Return of the Sphinx
Archealogist Dan Pierce had just discovered a tunnel entrance between the front paws of the Great Sphinx. His heart pounded through his tan denim vest as he took of his hat and wiped the sweat off of his forehead. He took a deep breath and walked down the stone steps.
The doorways inside the tomb were massive, which puzzled Dan. No other tombs had doorways so big. The tomb itself ws a maze of corridors. Some hallways looked the same, but Dan didn't worry. He knew that Egyptians did this often to confuse tomb raiders. He walked through a doorway and into a large room. The only thing in the room was a large alter in the middle of it. Dan walked up to the alter and used his brush to sweep off the dust on the top. He noticed that on the platform, there was a gold chain necklace. The pendant on the front was in the shape of a cross, but the top part looked to be an oval cut in half and had the two ends squished together. He put the necklace on and was about to explore more of the tunnels when a golden entity came out of the necklace and went into his mouth.
Dan fell to his knees and gasped, unsure of what had just happened. Figuring it was just a hullucination caused by the heat, he stood up and continued walking towards the doorway when he felt an itching sensation in his legs. He tried to ignore it when he heard a ripping sound as his sandals were shreded. He looked down to see that his feet were now giant cat paws, complete with long black claws. Golden fur started to cover his feet. He nearly fainted as the transformations progressed.
The golden fur crawled up his legs. Dan yelled in pain as his kness reversed direction. He lost his balance andfell onto his hands. When the fur reached his waist, he felt his spine lengthen as a thin tail came out the small of his back. The tail became covered in yellow fur, except the last six inches from the tip. Here the hairs became longer and turned a dark shade of red. Dan understood what was happening. He was being transformed into a lion.
Not quite, though. the yellow fur continued up his chest. His abs became more visible as the weak man gained incredible strength. The hairs crawled down his arms. His elbows reversed direction and his hands transformed into paws identical to his hind legs. He roared in pain, his voice becoming deeper and louder as his shoulders split in two and arms grew out of his back. The long, flimsy arms quicly became covered in white feathers. Dan's neck lengthened slightly and became covered with extremely long hairs that turned deep red. His face gained more muscle, but otherwise remained unchanged, which confused Dan. All of a sudden, his hat transformed into a solid gold Egyptian royal headress. His thoughts changed. he started to believe that he had always been like this.
"Nnnnnoooooooooaaaaaaaarrrrrr!" he said as his thoughts changed in mid scream. The headdress became imbedded with jewels of all shapes and colors. the sphinx grew in size to ten feet tall. The sphinx rushed through the corridors that he had memorized. he ran up the stairs on his four legs. He flew into the open sky, looking to see how much Egypt had changed while he was away.
